Marketing Idea's:

For homework we were also given the task of exploring the different types of marketing, this we be beneficial when it comes to the research and planning stage where we have to market our music video. I used my already know knowledge as a consumer as well as google to research this topic, I also feel it was an easier task for me because when I was studying GCSE drama I was taken to a workshop where we learnt about many different forms of marketing such as stealth-marketing and cyber-marketing. I presented my findings in a spider-diagram, which I will refer back to for idea when I come to market my own music video.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World:

As a homework task, over the holidays we were given the brief to research post-modernism so that we return to school with a little background knowledge. It is useful for us to know about post-modernism when creating our music video as it links in with hyper-reality and might me a route that we would choose to explore for example we could create a music video similar to the film Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, where we have heroes battling for justice. Hot Chip- 'I Feel Better' Music Video:

In the summer holidays the whole year group were given some homework to do inoder to make the course run a little smoother. One of our homework tasks was to creat the I Feel Better music video by Hot Chip. We had to follow the music video shot-for-shot to create a music video that looks exteremly similar. Some students were actors, some we camera crew ect.

My task was Hair & Make Up. I had to make Cancer Jesus (Joe) look extremely pale and this was a difficult task. I used a mixture of face paint and talc-powder to create the end result.

 

On a whole the day was very enjoyable and very valuable. It gave us an insight as to how how much effort and energy it takes to create a music video. From it i learnt that planning and keeping on top of the planned times is important. I also learnt that is important to direct the actors through every step of their performance and to keep their energy levels high by providing food and drink is equally as important in getting a quality end result. It is also intresting to know that make-up needs to be touched up very often as it can melt off under lighting.
